The Graphics

This is one of NetEnt’s cinematic productions along with the Jungle Spirit Call of the Wild slot and others. The visuals are phenomenal! And here’s a bit more background: Asgard was the setting for the ancient realm of Valhalla, the heavenly home to Norse warriors who died in battle and as such there’s an epic feel to the design here.

Asgardian Stones slot is made up of 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 pay-lines and is one of our favourite NetEnt slots along with Gonzo’s Quest and Guns n Roses. Let’s face it, there’s a lot of great games to choose from.

Instead of your standard reel spins, this game comes with the Avalanche feature (just like in Gonzo’s Revenge), meaning you can win multiple times from every spin. As winning symbols drop in place, they explode and are replaced by new icons that drop in from above.

It’s a very cool little feature, and one that I’m rather partial to. When you start to compare this game to more traditional fare like the Piggy Payout slot, you start to get an idea of how high tech this design is.

Your reel symbols include the usual playing card icons Q, K & A and 5 runes with Nordic gods engraved on them as your high value symbols – Odin (we think) is the highest symbol on the reels and will pay 25x your stake for 5 across a pay-line.

Asgardian Stones slot also comes with a wild symbol in the shape of the W icon. These Wilds will also land as Colossal Wilds which split into individual symbols giving you even more chances to make extra winning combinations (but more on those below).

The Bonuses

Colossal Crush
2×2 and 3×3 symbols will land on the reels and crush all the other icons they fall on making them explode which results in much bigger payouts. This is because all Colossal have multipliers of 1x to 4x attached to them. You can keep tracks on it via the rune-o-meter at the left of the reels. The Colossal Crush feature continues until the extra large symbols land at the bottom of the reels.

Free Spins Bonus Wheel
This unique feature is triggered when the 3×3 bonus wheel symbols lands on reels 3, 4 or 5. Now the Bonus Wheel will spin to reveal cash payouts of up to 36x your bet or it will award 25 free spins.

If you manage to pick up the free spins, the Colossal Wilds will also be active and can split into smaller 1×1 wilds to further boost your wins. The Bonus Wheel can also be re-triggered twice.
