The Basics
I must admit I’m not a big fan of circuses – particularly those that incarcerate my fellow animals in the name of entertainment. The Graphics
The game begins with a short intro and circus acts including a clown, the strong men and the ringmaster will show you what’s in store. Click on ‘continue’, you’ll enter the red and white striped big top. You’ll also receive a very warm welcome as you pass through the red curtains into the exciting slot action.
Style-wise, the design is retro and made to look like a funfair from the late 19th century. It’s the small details make this game’s design stand out, and everything has been hand-drawn right down to the intricate game icons that perfectly capture the look and feel of the era.
Personally, I love the ringmasters’ handlebar moustache. In fact I may sport one myself…
And, the soundtrack is just as good with the Wurltizer organ music and bustling buzz recreating the sounds of the circus.
It has to be said compadres, that Play’n GO have really pushed the boat out with the visuals in this game. I would go as far to say it’s their best-looking slot yet. Well it´s good to see something away from the Roman theme (try the Centurion slot game for example), the Irish (Finn and the Swirly Spin anyone) and the Egyptian (Ankh of Anubis, also from Play’n GO). Golden Ticket Slot Game Play
Golden Ticket slot has 5 reels and 5 rows: not as many as the Monopoly Megaways slot, but still, it´s not holding back on this front. Spins start at 20p and go up to 40.00 per go, suggesting this is a game on the lower end of the variance scale.
Cascading Reels
With no pay-lines, you create wins by matching 3x or more symbols horizontally or vertically. These winning symbols will then collapse leaving blank spaces. The more columns you collapse, the better – as if you manage to clear the whole reel grid, you could bag 200x your total wager.
There’s also a multiplier ladder to the left of the reels – keep the consecutive wins going and you could get x5 multiplier applied to your pay out.
Step right up folks, because there are some magnificent symbols on the reels! The top hat, ringmasters’ whip, the strongman’s dumb bells and some jugglers’ clubs. The Wild icon here is the Golden Ticket game logo and there are no Scatter symbols which makes a refreshing change.
During the Bonus feature, many other reel icons will land on your screen; clowns, stars, cakes, shot targets, hot-air balloons, drums, lions, elephants and ducks. But where are the monkeys? That’s pure discrimination I tell you!
The Bonuses
Look carefully behind the reels and you’ll see letters b,o,n,u,s vertically in 2 columns. If you manage explode all the letters during the cascade drops you’ll trigger off the bonus feature.
A new screen will open up and you’ll find yourselves in an old-fashioned shooting gallery complete with with ducks, lions, clowns and balloons. Hit 5x or more matching icons and you’ll get a win. Land a bonus icon and you’ll re-trigger the spins.
Last of all, if you shoot 10x of the clowns you’ll win a prize of x35 your wager. How marvellous!
Monkey Verdict
