Gonzo’s Gold
The original Gonzo slot was released ten years ago, and became a legend as the first game to use Avalanche Reels. The Graphics
In this instalment, Gonzo and his search for El Dorado takes place inside an ornate Inca temple. The visuals are clean, precise and an upgrade on the original. But what we are missing is the comedy Gonzo to the side of the reels! NetEnt, where has he gone?? The soundtrack and sound effects are excellent, though.

Gonzo’s Gold slot has 5 reels, 5 rows and a cluster pay mechanic – this means you need to hit 3 x or more higher paying symbols in a cluster or 4 or more lower paying symbols to make a win.
Your bets start at 0.10 and climb up to 200.00 per spin. After a few calculations, I have surmised that Gonzo’s Gold comes with medium volatility. The maximum possible win here is 5000x your stake.
But now let’s look at Gonzo’s pay table! The game’s highest paying symbol is the Conquistador himself while the engraved Inca faces in purple, blue and green comprise the rest of the premium icons.

Land 3x or more the temple scatters and you will set off the Free Spins bonus. Before things get going, you must pick an icon to act as an Expanding Symbol for the duration of the feature.

The Monkey Verdict
The Gonzo’s Gold slot has a lot going for it. We like the cluster pays and expanding symbol Free Spins, but we do miss some of the fun from the first game and would have liked a bit more action from Gonzo himself.
Add to that the significantly lower max win and no win multipliers and the game is not quite the ferocious sequel we were hoping for…
